CYCLING AND HIKING

The Creuse is for the real bike lovers a real experience!

An area pre-eminently for unique hiking pleasure! The Creuse is for the real bike lovers a real experience!

It is an excellent cycling area because the hills are not too high, so it is not always an uphill climb with your bike.

The roads are never flat or straight, after every corner awaits a surprise.

For the experienced cyclist snappy excursions are possible, but you can also choose easy routes. The area offers something for everyone. Whether you just want to cycle 25 km or just over 100 km, for example to the Puy de Dôme. It is all possible!

Besides described cycle routes we also have maps of the region, so you can create a beautiful route. I give you gladly tips and ideas.

There is a charging point for electric bikes available in the bicycle shed.

This region is part of the Central Massif in France. In this green area innumerable rivers are flowing through the landscape of hills, hedgerows and thickets.

Auzances is located in a beautiful bocage landscape, varied with lots of oak and beech forests, countless lakes, streams and springs.

In spring there bloom all kinds of special plants, so the roadsides remain

pleasing to the eye throughout the season.

While walking, you will find the most unusual plants and birds, and also you will find many traces of the ancient Roman and Celtic history.

The pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela runs alongside Auzances.

Pilgrimages on foot, for hundreds of kilometers through France, arose from the XIth century.

Today, hikers can still walk one of the four historic routes to Santiago de Compostella. These routes pass along the most beautiful religious buildings in France.

There are about 100,000 people walking the entire tour (departure from France to Santiago de Compostela in Spain), but it attracts most hikers to walk stages of 25 km.
